Momentum | The Update

Hey Church!

A few months ago at the airport I met an old friend who had been on fire for God and passionate about winning the lost. It only took a few seconds of conversation to realize this was not the same guy I remembered. He said that somewhere he had lost the fire. I didn’t have much time to talk since both of us were heading in different directions. This morning as I was looking through my journal, I saw his name with a note next to it. How did he lose the momentum? What put the fire out? I thought about momentum and how it doesn’t stop overnight. It’s a gradual thing. Little by little we drift away from the things we love. It is never on purpose; just life in general can have that affect on us. So how do we keep ourselves on course?

In Philippians 3:14-16 from the Message translation Paul says this:

“I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made, but I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong. By no means, do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward to Jesus. I’m off and running and I’m not looking back.”

Paul puts this into perspective. If we lose focus on Jesus, we’ll end up in a place where we never planned to be. Keep your eyes on him! Love you guys! Enjoy the last weekend of the summer, and keep Jesus in focus this weekend as well!

The Church Has Left the Building | The Update

by Senior Ps. Erich & Joanne Eisenhart

Hey Church!

We are already into August, and the summer is flying by. We will be having our first Compass Kids Summer Camp and, if I know our team, it will be first class. Invite and bring your kids, your neighbors and your grandkids. It will be a life-changing event and, if you get them there, we will give them the gospel. We are called to make disciples of all men. It doesn’t tell us what age, so I would have to assume there is no age restriction for discipleship.

We have been called to reach all people, every age, and every nationality. That is the mission of the church. Remember the church is not just a Sunday thing; it is an every-day lifestyle. You are the church. When you left True North Church last weekend, the church left the building as well. Be blessed, and see you this weekend expecting God to do something great.

Compass Kids Summer Camp | August 13-17th

Compass Kids Summer Camp runs the week of August 13th through 17th and will be an awesome week of fun, games, songs, making new friends and learning about God. Ages range from K through 6th grade and will have activities geared for your child’s specific age (based on how old they will be in the fall). The program will be Monday through Friday from 9:00am to noon with a special Friday night party that the parents are invited to.

The cost is only $15 per child and will not exceed $30 (even if you are registering 3+ kids). This earlybird rate is valid during the month of June. In July, the rate goes up to $20 per child, not exceeding $40. Sign-up today!
