The Ultimate Events and Activities List

Recently, through meetings and brainstorming sessions, we have compiled a list of different ideas for mens and womens events, youth events, small group or even church events. As a church we have already done many of these and so far they have all been  pretty successful. This master list is really handy for keeping all of our ideas in one place and we are always adding to it. Maybe this can inspire you to come up with more ideas. Enjoy!

  • Diner / local restaurant hangout
  • Bonfire (giant smore’s fest)
  • Hot wing night / BBQ / crab cookout / hotdog night / taco bar
  • Root beer floats / ice cream sundae’s with another small group
  • Playoffs night (football / hockey / baseball / basketball, etc.)
  • Combined Reality Groups (girls and guys or two mixed adult groups)
  • Board game night (Catch Phrase, Life, Taboo) – multiple tables, multiple games
  • Progressive dinner – use van to drive to 3 different houses having a different type of food ready at each
  • Coffee shop hangout
  • Prank (saf and within reason) or scavenger hunt (Converge event)
  • Outdoor Northmen hike – host a day hike with survival challenges along the way
  • Philly trip (cheesesteaks, Liberty Bells, Ben Franklin, you get the idea)
  • Riversharks game / Union Game / Flyers game
  • Bowling / ice skating / roller skating (skate n’ flirt night for singles)
  • Outdoor game night (Capture the Flag, Frisbee Golf, etc.)
  • Guy’s night (Rock climbing gym / batting cages, etc.)
  • Grown-up T-ball game
  • Tailgate sporting event (BBQ in the parking lot)
  • X-box game night
  • Mini golf / driving range
  • Book club night
  • Movie theater or drive-in movie night
  • Mini-game night (cornhole / pool / hold ’em / darts / milk pong)
  • Sports night  (street hockey / basketball 3v3)
  • Ugly Christmas sweater party / Halloween costume party
  • Night swimming party
  • Theme party (80s theme / cowboys theme / dance party)
  • Extreme night (car bash / firewalk / bungee jumping)
  • Fishing trip / scenic boating expedition / father-son fishing day
  • Outdoor movie night (projector)
  • Saturday ski/snowboard trip
  • Concert trip
  • Action day / service projects as a group (Spring Break) / free carwash
  • Sponsor a child or save money as a group to accomplish a goal over one year
  1. Northmen “Man Games” Event – an eventful day of man-games in which participants receive points for placing in competitions and the ultimate man is crowned.
    1. 2 person wood sawing
    2. BBQ contest
    3. Hatchet toss
    4. Hot wing eating contest
    5. Tire throw
    6. Frisbee Golf
    7. Car Bash (most damage in 5 hits)
  2. Tournaments – Dodgeball, ultimate frisbee, cornhole, washers , basketball, ping pong, etc.
  3. Summer BBQ Competition – The men have a cookoff and could also sell tickets to have people sample and vote for their favorite.
  4. Northmens Breakfast Buffets @ The Point – Host a men’s breakfast at the point with all the breakfast fixins. Just a great opportunity to invite people out and engage in conversation.
  5. True North Open – Spring golf outing / tournament. Four-person scramble teams, prizes for the top 3 teams. Hole in one challenge, longest drive challenge, longest putt challenge. Sponsors and an entry fee to be in the tournament.
  6. Monday Night Football party @ The Point
  7. Northmen fantasy leagues – Baseball, football, Nascar, etc.
  8. Men’s conference trip.
  9. Luncheon with a guest speaker
  10. Demolition derby or racecar event (South Jersey Speedway)
  11. Dave & Busters trip
  12. Big League Dreams – wiffle ball tournament for adults / rent the facility.

    Hiking trip could be to Hawk Mountain in Kempton, PA. It’s a hawk and bird of prey sanctuary with this 10-11 mile hike that is incredible! Check it out at http://www.hawkmountain.org.

    Can I request that one of the fishing trips involve women too? There are a few ladies in the church that love to fish. 🙂
