Let It Rain | The Update

by Senior Ps. Erich & Joanne Eisenhart

Hey Church!

Is everyone enjoying the beautiful flowers, trees in full bloom, and spring in all its glory? The spring is like the resurrection; trees that appeared to be dead are bursting forth with new life. Energy is everywhere, nothing can hold it back. So the big question is whether that growth can be sustained. One of the main ingredients for sustaining growth is water. And if you haven’t noticed, we are in short supply of it. The winter was mild with very little snow or rain. The April showers that bring May flowers have so far been non-existent. Rain is one of the major ingredients to life. Without it, the earth would be like many of the uninhabited planets in our Solar System.

So what do we do in a case like this; when something essential is in short supply? In James 5:17-18 it says, “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain for three and a half years. And he prayed again, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced fruit.” I’m praying for rain. What is it you need in your life that is essential? Are you praying for it? Earnestly?

See you all in church this weekend and expect God to do the impossible!
