Wrestle | The Update

by Senior Ps. Erich & Joanne Eisenhart

This past week my message in the morning and evening was on temptation. Temptation is a real thing, and to deny that fact would be devastating to our walk as believers. As long as we breathe we will be faced with it. In a recent survey put out by Discipleship Journal, they listed the two areas where Christians felt the most vulnerable. The number one reason was that they had neglected time with God. Neglecting time with the One you love always puts you in a vulnerable place and, believe me, your enemy knows that. When you are out there, he sees it and sends out his finest to get your attention; and the temptation is in full swing.

Remember, many strong Christians, stronger than you and I, have given into temptation. So how do we combat those assaults? We spend time with Jesus (who is crazy in love with us), we stay away from compromising positions, we stay connected with the church that He is building and we hold ourselves accountable to someone. If we do these things, He will provide us with the strength we need to win this fight. Remember, “we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against powers and forces in heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12).

See you all in church this Sunday. Remember, don’t invite someone, bring someone. We love you guys; Joanne and I are excited to be your pastors.

God bless!
